He loves having pictures of the family and all his favorite ol’ tunes at his fingers. He is still getting used to the touch interface. Eventuall we’ll get him set up on the calendar. Calendar is one of the features he was excited about. i’m more excited to get my sister’s iCal wirelessly synced to his. I’m heading back tomorrow to give them some speakers.

Cydia! go faster go!
As Jay Freeman (Saurik) updated some essential cydia components yesterday we all see the results. Huge performance increase for cydia updates especially on the slower devices. Great work! keep it up Jay!
iPhone OS 3.1.3 Released!
Jailbrakers and unlockers DO NOT RUN! Apple released iTunes and iPhone update today. iTunes is safe, but @westbaer points out that iPhone 3.1.3 closes the usb_control_msg exploit, used by blackra1n. It also looks like it’s just bug fixes and perhaps prep for the new ipad. Nothing I can’t wait for. I hope any 3gs or touch 3g owners have their shsh blobs saved through cydia or umbrella.
UPDATE: for original (2g) iPhone users can use the latest Redsn0w to update your phone to 3.1.3. you must feed it the 3.1.2 ipsw.
UPDATE 2: new pwnage tool or sn0wbreeze to break 3.1.3 on all but the newest devices (new bootrom 3gs and touch 3g), but it’s a pain and not worth it with 3.2 just weeks away.
iPad is out!
Though I have to admit I am a tad underwhelmed. Sad that they choose to stick with at$t, but I will admit that the $500 price tag is appealing. Right now this devise seems to be set to replace my iPod not my laptop. I think I will wait for the new MacBook pros. I will continue to watch the iPad with interest. I’m sure things will change seriously with new software! I wonder when it will run more then one app at a time. Either by apple’s doing or others.
Is MobileMe on the blink again?
I woke this morning to find that many of my contact’s info such as phone numbers or email address had simply vanished. good thing i keep regular backups. This marks the most recent pitfall in a VERY bumpy MobileMe history.
