Just driving back from camping in ojai. Had a lovely time. slept right next to a creak and ate gourmet meals. was a perfect reset. I’ll throw up some more photos when I get home.

After a glorious breakfast and a walk on the pier we returned to Tess’s condo by way of the beach. along the way we met a very social pelican. i shot some video that i will put up here eventually. Download pelican video here.

Hot time in Oceanside!
After some flaming absinthe and remarkable palaver, we finally flopped in beautiful oceanside. Today is remarkable day to go to the beach.
My grandpa joins the ipod family!
He loves having pictures of the family and all his favorite ol’ tunes at his fingers. He is still getting used to the touch interface. Eventuall we’ll get him set up on the calendar. Calendar is one of the features he was excited about. i’m more excited to get my sister’s iCal wirelessly synced to his. I’m heading back tomorrow to give them some speakers.

Nothing ever goes according to plan. It tuned out that i am stuck on the hill babysitting a restore for much longer then expected. Thankfully, i had a premonition about this and decided to make a quick stop over at Mel’s to get my nom on. i would certainly be gnawing my own extremities by now if i hadn’t.
I must say, Mel’s did me right! thanks! now back to watching status bars.

i hope everyone is registered who wants to be. there is always next year! Mark your calendar if you want to cheer me on, it’s June 6th. i don’t know if i’m going to beat the dog. i’m certainly going to best my time from last year. that was laughable. honestly i’m amazed that i finished it. I have been back in the pool already. i’m actually going to be starting some rigorous training pretty soon i can’t wait!

Did you know that the Burning Man Organization owns the copyright to all pictures taken on the playa? they do. Did you read the fine print when you bought your ticket?
Why would BMO—the organizer of an “an annual experiment in temporary community dedicated to radical self-expression and radical self-reliance”—undermine speech and creativity like this? BMO claims that the terms in the Burning Man ticket agreement are necessary to protect Black Rock City’s unique culture and the privacy of its participants. Furthermore, BMO points out that the limitations are rarely enforced and they only claim copyright if the photos are used in a way BMO doesn’t authorize. By claiming copyright in all photographs taken at the event, BMO can use the streamlined “notice and takedown” process enshrined in the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) to quickly remove unapproved photos from the Internet.
