Solar eclipse seen from LA!

From the northern part of Los Angeles, i spied the eclipse through a pair of plastic and cardboard eclipse viewing glasses. The viewing spectacles were provided by the Griffith Park Observatory. It was a spectacular sight, despite only being a partial eclipse and only the beginning. I was amazed when i pointed the lens of my small digital camera though the disposable glasses and was able to take a pretty decent picture. enjoy. depending on where you live, you may still catch it in your area. Look up in the sky, but protect your eyes.

For the love of Duck!

With little more then google search results, my girl whipped up an unbelievably tasty meal. Roasted Duck! Though it may have been our first duck either of us had prepared, it was one of the tastiest I have ever enjoyed. This picture is what the bird looked like just before the glaze went on. My girl is the best!

Topanga Days! Music, Fun, and competitive eating.

I attended Topanga’s anual fair. There was much excitement, great music, and some phenomenal costumes. We were having such a great time, we hardly noticed that Forest’s beer had been pilfered by Andy Dick. We discovered some great bands (like Afrobeat Down & Clare Means). I even entered the anual Pie Eating Competition. As my first go at competitive eating, i did fairly well, but i have a few pro tips for those interested. First off, don’t sit next to the craziest person in the competition. Don’t wear clothes you care about (not even as a spectator) and watch out for your nose. (I’m still pulling blueberries out of my nose)
