Awesome film. Great to hear how it came about. It was falling apart before they brought Badham on. He brought back the original writers and saved this American classic! Also, believe it or not, John Lennon was originally cast to play Professor Stephen Falken. Unfortunately, he was murdered before he could play the part. Imagine that.
i caught a screening of The director’s new film with Q&A after the show. I’m excited (pretty good seats even).
Well, by the time the movie started there were about 20 of us, but as we entered the theatre was deserted.
As if I haven’t already learned my lesson, i continue to tempt fate. just yesterday i skated by on my data recovery skills and pure luck when i nearly lost 200GB of personally encoded tested and tagged dvds! i can only imagine how many hours of man and machine work to went into that collection. i’ll only have to redo a handful of movies. lets hope they haven’t wondered off, that they are in their cases, and all the horrible things that drove me to encode them all in the first place. if you care about it, back it up. storage is so cheap now. there is no reason not to just back everything up!

A Night on the Town
Guacamole plus margaritas and some other frosty treats equals a great evening. We even caught a film. The spanish subtitles help me learn. We found ourselves a hotel for the evening and an ATM (mexican ATMs make me feel rich). Some of the streets here are god awful. One mexican driver accidentally drove into some kind of drainage cliff in the middle of the street. (photo of hole) He looked over at us for help. Help to lift his car out of the ditch. I was wondering how many people it would take to actually lift the front of this car out of the ditch. Three. Lets hope we earned some karma points for the mechanic tomorrow.
