Star Wars and code!

Vader MatrixWith my work queue nearly completed, i have decided this morning to sit down and start a few small projects of my own.  I’ve got three screens up; client side, server side and Star Wars.  I am ready to get it done. Starting with the original version of the the original  A New Hope.  This will keep the creativity flowing while not distracting too much from the task at hand.  I’ll be posting on the other side assuming i produce something worth sharing. Apple announces small changes that signify an exciting direction!

Apple Announcement 2015Apple’s big announcement today turned out to be more small enhancements that add up to exciting developments.  First off the rundown, iPhone 6s/6s Plus hits stores the 25th.  Faster, better camera, haptic feedback, force touch, and rose gold.  New iPad Pro with 2732?by?2048 12.9″ screen, a keyboard case, and a stylus!  Hits stores November. (also a new iPad Mini)  The Apple TV, got a complete rebuild with amazing looking features, but no delivery date.  Also some new Watch styles and bands or whatever.

So I was hit by a car today.

be3n hit and runA strange turn.  It all started today taking Forest to a doctors appointment.  She had hurt her hand and it was uncomfortable to drive.  After the appointment we stopped at Ralphs for some groceries.  After parking in the lot, i had my door open and I was installing my sun shield when the driver beside me began to back up.  I did not even notice until she had struck my open door and knocked it closed (not very hard) against my legs.  This is my new car, so I jumped up and knocked on the window of the car.  “You hit my car!” I exclaimed while she continued to back up.  “Liar.” I hear from behind a closed window.  I see a minor scrape on the driver door of my new car and my tone and intensity grow.

I got a new solid ink printer!

Xerox Color Cube 8580 I have been following the Solid Ink system for a while now.  Since Xerox started shipping printers in 2002 (the tech goes way back to the 80s).  It seemed like the best of both the Ink and Laser world.  The quality of ink crossed with the maintenance schedule and availability of Laser.  My interest in this has intensified as my Ricoh laser printer entered it’s twilight years.  I’ve been shopping around for a while now and when I found a great printer at a great price, I ordered it.  I selected the ColorQube 8580.

My Ricoh was a pretty good printer.  It has over 12,000 prints on it and it came up on needing another set of color toner ($250 for that machine).  Ironically, it was in exactly this condition when I had originally acquired this printer over 5 years ago.  At the time, I was flipping ink printers every year.
