Frys celebrates its 30 year anniversary!

Alice in Wonderland Baloon Sculpture closeAlice in Wonderland Balloons! Amazing installation.  I was very impressed when visiting my old stomping grounds, also known as Frys of Woodland Hills.

Another exciting note is Sugru is now available for purchase from Frys!  Neato molding clay that adheres to anything and hardens into a rubberized grippy substance.  fun stuff for makers and fixers alike.

Berries are back!

Farmers markets have berries and for a limited time, you can find Golden Raspberries!  These raspberries are sweeter and more delicious then your conventional raspberries (notable for their color.  More yellow/orange then red).  I love it when they are available and I stock up because they are usually gone by June.  I also picked up some mulberries because I had never had them before.  Despite an infamous monkey and weasel known for circling a mulberry bush, I found them quite ordinary.  A novelty for berry lovers like me, but nothing so special it must be tasted.

Not all bad news. . .

Apple Watch Upside Down This week is off to a much better start then last week.  I woke up this morning with a certain package “out for delivery.”  Fortunately I was not far when it arrived.  Weeks ahead of its original delivery date, this new toy offered a lovely distraction from the hell of working car dealerships and all the bullshit that entails.  (Still no replacement car yet.)  I wear my watch on my right hand with the crown pointed left.  I guess that is the style of the south-paw.  It is how i have been wearing watches for most of my life.

Lamenting the lost ride. . .

Hyundai Crash Airbag DeployedYesterday I was in a collision that destroyed my Hyundai Elantra of nearly a decade!  It was a car i never planned on owning, but without which i cannot have imagined my life these past years.  It is important to say at this time that i escaped relatively uninjured.  I put a great deal of effort into this car.  Shortly after i purchased it, i installed my first carputer.  With the incredible help of BJ and his father Bill and a headless G4 laptop.  I wanted to finally post these pictures now that it is all over and done.  From prototype and preparation to wiring and construction.  It was amazing and it was done years before the iPhone.  Bill even welded me a custom bracket to make it all fit together securely.
